DONATE TIME
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. (Qur'an 41:8)
Community Dinners
The community dinners in collaboration with St. John’s Episcopal Church continue to be held last Saturday of every month. We need 6-8 dedicated IMAN volunteers on a regular and committed basis. Around this core group, we can offer an additional, IMAN led, 2nd Saturday of the month dinner at St. Johns. Those who would like to commit their time on a regular basis can contact Br. Abbas Kazmi by sending mail to socialservices@iman-wa.org.
Outreach
Reliable sources of information about Islam and opportunities for others to interact with practicing Muslims continue to be of great interest to the broader community to develop a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.
Bridge building to our Muslim brothers and sisters following other schools of thought is essential to nurturing a harmonious diverse Muslim community in the Greater Seattle area.
Given (the often) negative coverage of news and events around the Muslim world, combined with unfortunate misinformation about Islam and fear of Muslims, IMAN inter-faith and intra-faith outreach are important areas to expand IMAN's activities.
We need more community volunteer support to move forward. Send e-mail to iman@iman-wa.org if you want to help.
Resource Center
IMAN Resource Center (IMANRC) sub-committee is dedicated to maintaining and providing online and on premise information on Islam and Muslims. The IMANRC will provide an opportunity to explore and promote educational research and religious studies relevant to personal or moral development and better understanding between interfaith communities. If you are interested in helping on this important endeavor, please send mail to resource@iman-wa.org.
Health Clinic
We are exploring the possibility of providing medical services to uninsured and underinsured members of our community.
The proposed services could include:
- Health screenings
- Routine blood tests
- Prescription assistance
- Referrals for diagnostic services
- Educational health seminars
- Nutritional guidance and support for better management of chronic conditions
Drawing on successful models in the Greater Seattle area and elsewhere in the United States, the initial concept is for the health clinic to operate one day each week, supported by a team of pro bono volunteers, including doctors, nurses, medical assistants, translators, and other support staff.
Early feedback from community members—particularly healthcare professionals who have expressed interest in volunteering their time and providing pro bono services—has been very encouraging.
We are continuing to explore the feasibility, scope, and requirements of such a program. If you are interested in helping, volunteering, or contributing your expertise, please email health@iman-wa.org.
