Become a Member

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of IMAN. We encourage everyone—and especially those who benefit from IMAN's programs, services, and activities—to become members and take an active role in our community.

Membership is not required to participate in any IMAN activity or program.

A strong sense of community and belonging is essential to the strength and continuity of any community organization. For Muslim families in our area, it also helps create the connections, relationships, and shared sense of belonging that enable our community to grow and thrive.

By becoming an IMAN member, you reaffirm your commitment to our community and help strengthen IMAN through participation, involvement, service, and leadership. Members are encouraged to share their ideas, contribute their talents, participate in planning, and help with the day-to-day work of our community.

Our goal is to provide an environment in which individuals and families can grow spiritually, contribute to human progress, and seek closeness to our Creator, Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

By becoming a member of IMAN, you can help us fulfill this vision.

Benefits of Membership

  • Build relationships with fellow Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslims and strengthen our community.
  • Share thoughts, ideas, and feedback to help improve IMAN's programs and services.
  • Develop a stronger sense of belonging for yourself and your family.
  • Participate in the planning and development of IMAN activities and initiatives.
  • Be eligible for consideration for service on IMAN committees and, where applicable, the Executive Committee.

Membership Dues

  • Annual membership dues are $480 and may be paid in full at registration or through quarterly or monthly payments.
  • Membership must be renewed by the end of September each year.
  • Membership dues help support IMAN's operating expenses, including utilities, supplies, materials, and other essential costs.
  • IMAN is a volunteer run organization.

Application

We encourage prospective members to become familiar with IMAN and its community by participating in our activities, programs, and services.

As part of the membership process, members of the Board of Directors and/or Executive Committee need to have an opportunity to get to know prospective members through their participation and involvement in the community.

Each membership application must also be supported by two existing IMAN members who know the applicant and are willing to sponsor the application.

Once these requirements have been met, the completed application may be submitted for processing.
