QUR'AN
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance and reflection. So, is there anyone who will take heed? (Qur'an 54:17)
What is the Qur'an?
The Qur'an is the exact Word of God, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the Angel Gabriel. The Prophet memorized its verses and recited them to his companions, who memorized them and recorded them in writing. These written records were carefully checked against the Prophet's recitation during his lifetime.
The Qur'an consists of 114 chapters (sūrahs) and has been preserved in its original Arabic text since its revelation more than fourteen centuries ago. Muslims therefore regard the Qur'an as the unique and miraculous Word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The Qur'an is the final revelation from God and the primary source of guidance for Muslims in matters of faith and practice. It addresses the fundamental questions of human existence and speaks to every dimension of life—including wisdom, belief, worship, morality, law, and human relationships.
At its heart is the relationship between Allah and His creation: knowing Him, worshipping Him, obeying Him, and living according to His guidance. The Qur'an also provides principles for justice, righteous conduct, compassion, social responsibility, and a just and equitable society.
